Bio

I am two-time graduate of Appalachian State University, where I obtained my Master of Arts in English, concentrating in Teaching Literature and Writing, and my Bachelor of Arts in Art and Visual Culture at App State, concentrating in Studio Art and minoring in English. Throughout my time at App State, I served as an undergraduate Resident Assistant with University Housing, a Graduate Teaching Assistant with the University Writing Center, and—most recently—a Graduate Teaching Faculty Associate (Instructor of Record) with the university's Department of English.

Outside of school, I am a sixteen-year (and counting) member of Scouting America, formerly known as the Boy Scouts of America, where I have attained the rank of Eagle Scout and attempt to stay involved in between my classes and work schedules. Additionally, since 2016, I have been a member of the Order of the Arrow, Scouting's National Honor Society, where I have held numerous leadership roles and was bestowed the Vigil Honor as a youth.
